Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is the qualification that Clinical Psychologists are awarded on successful completion of their three-year training.
What Louise Offers:
Louise can provide psychological assessment and therapy. She can also provide assessment for people prior to surgical procedures. Louise’s area of specialism is clinical health psychology, supporting people when psychological difficulties are linked to physical illness and/or injury. She can also provide psychological assessment and therapy for depression, anxiety, body image difficulties and other issues. Louise can also offer supervision and consultation to other professionals working with people with clinical health issues.

Louise’s background:
Louise has several years of experience working in the NHS, both in clinical and research roles since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2009. She works at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital specialising in helping people affected by various types of cancer. Louise also provides assessment and support for people before they undergo risk-reducing mastectomy and some breast cosmetic procedures. Louise has published research in peer-reviewed journals. She has also written a book chapter on psychological approaches to breast cancer care and contributed to national guidelines on the psychological assessment of people considering risk-reducing mastectomy. Louise currently works as a Macmillan Principal Clinical Psychologist in the NHS, is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool, and also works in private practice across Merseyside and Chester.
